About this Course

Linocut is a “relief” technique similar to a stamp. Artists carve into soft linoleum. The uncarved areas are “stamped” onto paper using a press or by hand. In this workshop, we'll cut our linoleum plates into shapes that are not rectangular, making our own edges. Results are unique compositions and figure/ground relationships as well as possible multi-colour prints.No prior drawing, art, or printmaking experience is required.
