About this Course

New Media Gallery offers a brilliant series of after-school workshops integrating sound, movement and light technologies for Grade 1 & 2 students. Children will first journey through the captivating exhibition TRACE. Here they will encounter art from around the world. Exploring how technology transforms the ways in which we make a mark in this world, they will learn about robotic drawing machines and sound/image translation. Then it’s time to innovate in the Learning Lab! Students will work with LittleBits technology to create drawing machines and explore mark making through movement, sound and light. This five week program inspires critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. Students will learn how mark making can be imagined as individual, collective and robotic expressions. Alternating between guided immersive technology explorations and movement games, all is designed to connect the language of coding to real life. Imagination and curiosity will be key!
